Biography

Hakim is a partner at ABMAK Associates. Hakim holds a Master of Laws in Energy, Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Houston. He has a good understanding of complex legal and policy issues related to energy projects. Hakim has over 14 years experience advising on oil & gas projects and commercial transactions in Uganda.

Representative Matters

Hakim has advised various multilateral entities on labour & immigration matters including advising on national content, personel mobilisation and cross-border workforce mobility.
He has acted as counsel for TotalEnergies EP upstream project and East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP), SLB, McDermott, COOEC International Co., Limited and China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC) Joint Venture (CCJV).
Hakim as lead partner provides regular legal advisory services to Platinum Credit Uganda Limited on the structuring, establishment and regulatory compliance of its medium term note programme, including documentation and regulatory approvals.
He has advised and represented a diverse client base on employment matters, including workplace policies, disciplinary proceedings, dispute resolution, and providing ongoing support on employee relations and compliance.
