Biography

Aisha is the Managing Partner at ABMAK Associates She holds a Master of Laws in International Commericial Law from the University of Kent, UK. Aisha has over 23 years experience advising on Energy & Infrastructure, Project finance, Cooporate M&A, Capital Markert, Banking and Finance in Uganda. Aisha is admitted as an Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths in Uganda and Tanzania.

Representative Matters

Aisha has acted as lead counsel for major projects in Uganda’s Energy and infrastructure sectors, including the Achwa HPP1(42MW), Achwa HPP2 (41MW), Bugoye Hydro project (13MW),Kisinga Hydro power project (2.5MW), Muvumbe Hydro power project (6.5 MW), Sugar Corporation of Uganda Limited Bagasse Fired co-generation plant (26MW), Senok wind power project (20MW), and Kisinga Hydro power project (2.5MW).
She has acted as co-lead counsel for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline Project (EACOP) in respect of financing of the project including creation and perfection of security.

Aisha advised the Africa Reneweable Energy Fund( AREF) during the aquisitiion of Bugoye HPP (13MW) and Kikagati HPP (15MW) from Tronder Power Limited.
She has advised major infrastructure projects during project finance by DFIs such as FMO, PROPACO DEG, BIO, EAIF (INVESTEC), OPEC and AFDB.
Aisha acted as lead counsel to Credit Agricole during the financing of McDermott Uganda Limited and creation and registration of security over the company assets as well as issuance of validity and enforceability opinion in respect of financing documents .
